Periodontal Therapy
Periodontal disease is an infection that destroys gum tissue.  It begins with the formation of plaque build-up on the teeth and eventually forms into tarter.  Tarter causes bacteria to form in between teeth and gums, eating away at the soft gum tissue.  This is considered a mild form of gum disease called gingivitis. Gums become red and inflamed and may even bleed.  If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to serious gum disease known as Periodontitis, which is the number one cause of tooth loss in late adulthood.  Studies show that more than 50 percent of American adults over the age of 30 experience some kind of periodontal disease.  That is why it is imperative to maintain routine check-ups and cleanings with Dr. Miller, to help minimize any further spread of gum disease.

To treat gum disease, we offer Laser therapy at our Cincinnatti, Ohio dental practice.  During the procedure, Dr. Miller will carefully remove the bacteria from between the teeth and gums, using a small amount of laser light energy.  The laser removes only damaged or diseased tissue and helps preserve and protect the surrounding healthy gum tissue and tooth enamel.

If you are concerned that you may have gum disease or are in the early stages of it, call to book an appointment with Dr. Miller today.  Or if you would like more information about our Laser Periodontal Therapy, we'll be more than happy to answer any of your questions or concerns.  Call us now.

No matter how much you brush or floss your teeth on a regular basis, preventing tooth decay can still prove to be quite a difficult process.  Sealant treatments involve applying a thin layer of sealant to the surface of the teeth to safely protect them from plaque and decay.  Sealant treatments performed by a highly skilled dentist like Dr. Miller, can be nearly 100% successful at preventing cavities!

Root Canals
Contrary to popular belief, root canal therapy is generally a painless procedure.  The treatment is performed under local anesthetic and is aimed at alleviating tooth pain and discomfort.  When the pulp inside a tooth becomes infected and is not removed, it can lead to many problems like pain and swelling or even cause more extensive damage to your jaw bone.  If left untreated the infection can actually kill the tooth and the entire tooth will have to be extracted.  Root canal therapy can save your tooth before it's too late.  You can trust that our First Impressions Dentistry team will make your root canal treatment as comfortable and painless as can be.

Tooth Colored Fillings
Today, when a tooth has a cavity or you need to replace a worn filling, a natural-looking white restoration can be a wonderful choice. Dentistry over the years has produced many mouths with silver fillings. Composite white fillings have several advantages over metal. They are bonded to your tooth, making it stronger. We do not have to remove as much tooth structure. The bonding agent can insulate your tooth from extremes of hot and cold. White restorations can be done in just one visit with the end result a beautiful, natural-looking smile.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is an excellent treatment for replacing missing teeth. It is a small, titanium post that replaced the roots of a missing tooth. A custom-fitted artificial tooth, called a restoration, is secured to the implant which holds the restoration firmly in place. An implant can support a variety of restorations, such as a single crown, multi-unit bridges, and full arch dentures. An implant has several benefits. Like the roots of natural teeth, it stimulates the jawbone when you chew. This preserves the jawbone and keeps it healthy. When the restoration is in place, the implant looks and feels much like natural teeth.
